Folder gluer includes feeding section with hopper, glue applicator, crease rollers, folding section and transmission beam, drive section, squaring section, counting and stacking section.

Folder gluer represents a completely new approach to the finishing operator of container manufacture. The machine is of unique design and robust construction.

All controls are simple and positive enabling changeover to time be reduced to a minimum.

This machine seals with adhesive the longitudinal joint of slotted corrugated containers. The container blanks which are placed printed side up in the hopper are fed out from the bottom of the pile by simple and consequently reliable means. As soon as the blank has entered the belt section and has left the pile completely the next one follows.

Whilst being fed in the blank passes trough two pairs of creaser rollers and also passes the glue coating roller. At all speeds of the roller is the same as the blank speed.

A special feature of the machine is the " bottom folder " which folds the panels

downwards so that the glued joint is underneath. At the rear of the folding section vertical side belts travelling at the same surface speed as the container assist in optaining the perfect fold.

After folding, the containers pass to containers pass to squaring unit where reciprocating plates give them their final square shape. These plates are especially designed to produce a joint truly square with the container ends and to eliminate any tendency of " fish tailing "

From the bottom of the squaring unit where a primary compression is also optained.,the containers are fed one by one by rubber feed belts and are then transferred to the stacking section.

By having belts travelling at the same speed but at slightly different levels the containers are made to underlap and,in conjunction with a suitably located stop, the containers build up a uniform stack upwards, successive containers being added to the bottom of the stack.Just before entering the stack the containers are counted electrically and when the pre-determined number is reached the stop is released and a complete stack travels away under compression toward the end of the machine.
